    I think having acsess to higher education for free and with counsuling could help. Just an environment to break a way from a toxic one. Especaily to help aged out foster care kids. Getting out of that enviorment can be a pluss, its to dam bad that when your poor broke and discuraged you think to self that it not worth it. I mean it could break away from that iguess.

    Repent, which means turn away from sin! Our sin leads us to hell as it’s disobedience from God - if your friend disobeys your laws that u place while they’re staying at your house, you would be pretty upset right? So God is just, and good, so He must do the right thing! (Sending us to hell) You may think this is harsh but, think about this: if we send a criminal to jail is it really a bad thing? Or is the judge delivering justice for the wrong doing? SO, THE THING IS TO GET OUT OF OUR PUNISHMENT JESUS CAME AND DIED ON THE CROSS FOR US, SO WE WOULDN’T HAVE TO GO TO HELL IF WE JUST BELIEVE THAT HE DIED ON THE CROSS! HE ESSENTIALLY TAKES OUR PUNISHMENT UPON HIMSELF. NOW WE CAN BE SEEN AS INNOCENT (in the OLD TESTAMENT, Animal sacrifices were done to atone/take away the sin of the peoples, JESUS DID FOR US!) IN GOD’S EYES ON JUDGEMENT DAY IF WE BELIEVE AND REPENT.

    Did anyone else notice that the colors looked pretty proportional throughout the video?? Maybe I’m just reading the info wrong but it seemed like the reason there were less kids who experienced no trauma and ended up lower income was just because there were less kids who didn’t experience any trauma…

    Disagree with the message at the end. Paul or whatever the dudes name is not anyone’s responsibility except his own. Obviously the system could be better but there’s always the chance to change. Look at those who are successful in the many adverse group. It’s possible to get there just difficult

  • @baseder514
    @baseder514 Месяц назад

    I think that this video has some deceptive statistics. The statistics themselves are not that bad, but the highlighting is what makes it worse. For example, he said that the children who had no adverse experiences get a job more often then those with adverse experiences. This is true in one sense, but in atleast 2 others it is wrong. In the sense that in percentages, this is correct, but not in quantities or even what kind of jobs

    Isn't the mental health part of this going to be a bit skewed though. Since the final result was in 2021, in the middle of the pandemic, which would have probably impacted the statistic in unexpected ways. It would have been better to keep tracking them until 2022 or 2023, to see how they ended up when life was back to normal (or taken results from 2019)

    • @jekylljekyllhyde821
      @jekylljekyllhyde821 Месяц назад

      Yeah, you probably can't blame something really drastic on it, but i think that if you have suffered, it overall grants you a right to hurt those who haven't. There should be at least something good in suffering, and that would probably be that you will either become a good person or gain an excuse for your behaviour. The kids from this video, who have experienced no bad things, should at the very least feel guilty, otherwise it's unfair, isn't it?

      @@jekylljekyllhyde821 I strongly disagree, but it's kind of subjective However, by thinking that way you are actually making things fair by dragging average hapiness down. I think there's a better way to make things a little bit more fair without dragging average hapiness down, and it starts with being a little more socialist for example by giving aids/scholarships for the kids in need

    As another viewer commented, but I must mention it for more recognition, the visual were really not in line with your conclusions, in fact, visually the statistics suggest that there is no anomaly here, but instead that everything is seemingly evolving as you would expect it to evolve, but in any case I was unable to understand nearly anything, and I personally have a great understanding of statistics, but this one is just plain confusing.

I was both held back and bullied as a kid, but being held back has helped me with school and being bullied has left me to focus more on my grades and not where I stand socially. Now I am going this year to pursue a master's in architecutre and design with scholarships :D

    damn, yeah i feel this. i was bullied for the vast majority of my childhood and it is the root cause of most of my struggels today. though i have been fortunate to have great parents with a decent income and having recieved a lot of support which has helped me ajust. i am fortunate enough to be studying for a batchlors degree but my childhood means i am 2 years behind on the curve (not really an issue) and comming from a lower level of education than i should have, people tell me that i am smart but i struggle academicly because i am missing so much "basic knowledge", people tell me that i look great yet i struggle to find love. i have a hard time getting out of my comfort zone, a hard time not rotting away behind a screen because at home behind a screen was where i was safe for most of my life. i want to go out more but i genuinely dont know how to because i locked myself away for pretty much all of my teenage years. studying in a new city gave me a fresh start, i have plenty of friends these days and my past feels long behind me, i generally dont give it much thought anymore but when i think about it it did shape me into who i am today, for better and for worse. though i still feel gratefull because other than the bullying i have been very forturnate in most aspects of life.

    thoughts: 1. this was a great idea 2. interesting how the drawings tended to live on the right side of the screen. my guess is it's the propensity of right handed people 3. so of course the penis tried to make an appearance so many times perhaps some very simple image identifications should be applied and when someone submits a penis just pop up a "oh jeez, grow up already". some people exist only to cause chaos and break things others create. how pathetic we humans are as a species because of these broken souls

  • @uikmnhj4me
    @uikmnhj4me Месяц назад

    The world we build going forward is our responsibility as a species, but I’m not taking responsibility for the poor life decisions made by a 37 year old man. He was shaped by a society I didn’t build, but even if I had, he has agency. He could have married his partner. He could commit to a healthier lifestyle. Instead he blames society. An external or internal locus of control is the biggest predictor of success. Not whether you went to college or had a low income status in childhood. What matters is what you choose to do with the cards you’re dealt. That’s also the best predictor of overall happiness. Stop playing the victim. Grow up, Alex.

      fun fact: trauma can cause health problems that are completely out of your control. for example, someone who was stabbed in the month of january might get sick and need to be hospitalized every year in january because their body still remembers. guess what? a healthier lifestyle wont do shit.

    As a middle and high school teacher, I'm always bothered by how much adults blame kids for their own situations. Other teachers and parents, they are always saying kids have to take responsiblity, that they are "already grown up" and it's their fault when something goes wrong (this starts as soon as 11 or 12 years old, in my experience). And then we adults also control and micromanage every aspect of their lives. We control what they can and can't do and sometimes even force them into choosing a single option, and then we blame then when it all goes wrong. Even in households that have none of those "adverse experiences" you mention, they still have issues that can scar them. Perfectionists parents that ask too much from them, rich parents that are never in their home because they need to work 2 or 3 jobs to mantain their lifestyle, or their job keeps them travelling most of the time, exposition to higher class standards that makes them feel bad with themselves when they can't reach the stupidly high standards of the people that surround them. We adults fuck around too much with them like they are not real people, and then get angry at them when they don't consider themselves real people. We seriously need to stop. For me, it all starts in education. Most adults went through that experience when they were teenagers so they think that's the only way to treat a teenager. But a single parent or teacher can make a big change, IMO. If you interact with a teenager, just talk to them about this, give them the chance to choose, listen to them, tell them that yeah, you also went through that and you also think it's bullshit and SHOW them that it is possible to be treated differently by an adult. That teenager will grow, and become an adult that doesn't replicate the cycle with the teenagers in their life. It's a slow process, but it's the only way.
